Metal Maidens is a magazine from The Netherlands, established in the summer of 1995 by Rita van Poorten (chief-editor, interviewer, photographer and web-editor) and her husband, Toine van Poorten (co-editor and reviewer). After ten years and forty print issues (the final 'farewell' edition came out in July 2005), we decided to continue as a webzine only. Which means that we can be more up-to-date and bring you all the latest news first. In the meantime, we have a page on Facebook (Metal Maidens 'Zine). so please "like" us or send us a message if you have any remarks or questions. We'd love to hear from you!

WHAT IS OUR TARGET?
We support women in rock and metal and we are very proud to say, that we were the first pioneers in this particular genre and won't be the last either! Despite the fact, that a lot of websites and weblogs have been 'using' our name and ideas, says it all. We focus on the women in the heavy (death-black-thrash) metal, hardrock and gothic metal, the most important ladies in the punk and new wave, hardcore and grindcore and of course those women, who sing and live the blues. We write about the past and present female or female-fronted bands, singers and musicians. We bring you the latest facts and news and give you the hottest interviews and stories. Furthermore, our site includes the latest CD, demo, DVD, concert reviews and dates and much other female mayhem!!!

METAL MAIDENS is looking for new reviewers, interviewers, photographers, etc. etc. all the time. If you LOVE to write about your favorite music and want to discover new female artists and bands, please drop us a line and maybe you are the right person to join our METAL MAIDENS team.
Only serious reactions and no time wasters, please! We've had enough of those and our time is too precious for that. Also please note, that we can NOT pay you any money. We don't make any profit with METAL MAIDENS, which is not our intention either. We're in it for the love of music and although that sounds rather corny, we hope that we made a difference throughout these years supporting all those female rockers and metalheads!
