Step Into The World Of Female Rockers!

Usually, we like to refer to an album or CD by a certain artist. Sometimes we do mention a single, mostly because it contains a bonus (or unreleased) track or just because this particular artist only released this seven inch. We hardly mention any of these nice coloured picture discs, that were released throughout the years. They provide a nice decoration on your bedroom wall or they make the collection of your favourite artist complete. Some people see the picture disc as the highlight of a certain artist. They don't care much about other fancy stuff. All they're longing for is the release of the new 'picture disc' or shortly 'PD', as they sometimes like to call it.

We didn't pay too much attention to these colourful items either, until a letter from Gertjan Stamer reached our office. A quote from his letter: "Hey people, I like your magazine a lot, but would it be possible to write a feature about picture discs?" That certainly was a great idea, but how do we organize this? We got in contact with Mr. Stamer shortly afterwards and he told us, that he owned a huge collection of PD's. To cut a long story short, we made an appointment (and met up several times) and took photos of many of his picture discs. We'd like to show them to you in this special column, called "Picture This Femme Disc".

In closing, we'd like to thank Gertjan for his time and patience. He also supplied us with all the other additional information about these colourful vinyl treasures - know as the picture disc. We'd like to start this column in alphabetical order. And who would be more suitable to 'kick things off' other than the true Metal Queen herself, LEE AARON?
