![]() Lita Ford has signed a worldwide deal with SPV/Steamhammer. Her new album "Living Like A Runaway" is tentatively due in May. "SPV gets who I am, my work, and what it takes to bring this project to life. I'm very excited to have them on my team," says Lita. "Living Like A Runaway" was co-written and produced by rock guitarist Gary Hoey and represents a return to form for Lita, who drew inspiration from her "ugly divorce" from NITRO singer Jim Gillette. "Gary Hoey and I wanted to approach this record by getting back to basics," she said. "We want to strip away all the electronics and plug-ins and keep it to vocals, guitar, bass, and drums. Going back to basics is going back to what punk, metal and THE RUNAWAYS was for me." She added, "[The album title] 'Living Like A Runaway' means freedom and empowerment. To do what I want and to pursue my dreams while answering to no one." In a 2011 interview with Classic Rock Revisited, Lita said that "Living Like A Runaway" will be her 'real comeback album'. She explained, "The last album I did was called "Wicked Wonderland", I put it out with Jim Gillette and we were married at the time. It is kind of a Jim/Lita album and not a really true Lita album. I got a lot of spiel about that. A lot of people have told me that they want a real Lita album, and I know what they mean. They are going to get it." She continued, "I really wasn't that comfortable with 'Wicked Wonderland' — not at all, to tell you the truth. There are parts of it that are good but it doesn't sound like a Lita record. When it got released, a lot of my fans felt weird about it and said it wasn't a Lita album. This time I want to do it on my own. The last one turned out to be more of a Jim album. We worked pretty well together. It doesn't suck, it's not a bad album; it's just not a Lita album."
Lemmy of MOTORHEAD has recorded ten songs for a solo album, that he has been working on for the past seven years. Guests so far include FOO FIGHTERS' Dave Grohl, JOAN JETT, THE REVEREND HORTON HEAT and THE DAMNED. Lemmy is hoping to finish it soon for possible release in 2012.
![]() Lita Ford revealed during an interview for 96.7 KCAL Rocks, that she is presently going through a really ugly divorce from her husband of 16 years, ex-NITRO vocalist Jim Gillette. According to Lita, the ordeal has inspired the lyrical themes covered on her forthcoming studio album "The Healing", which she hopes to release sometime this spring. When asked what kind of topics she is writing about on the new CD, Lita said, "that the album is based around people and their problems — whether it's divorce, sickness or whether they lost a job. The album is is all based around those sorts of things — sickness, cancer, loss, divorce... It's not gonna be depressing album. So far the songs are very upbeat and it is written with encouragement. I think a lot of people will be able to relate".

At this past weekend's NAMM international music industry trade show in Anaheim, California, Lita Ford announced, that she is currently working on her new album for a tentative spring release. Also she will be doing some more live shows this summer.
![]() Just in time for Halloween, Lita gets covered in blood, fights zombies, and escapes evil…. bunny rabbits? Yes, those are the scenes going on in the Queen of Metal's first foray into the world of comics. First up is Lita and her family — husband Jim and sons Rocco and James Gillette — in a four-panel, full color adventure webcomic where 8-year-old Rocco is dreaming about evil bunnies coming to get him, only to wake up to find that a fiercer danger actually lies ahead for this rock and roll family. The webcomic is just a tease to where the real action goes down in The Gillettes: Family Business comic book, which is out just after Halloween via JLRG Entertainment and Wham Bang Comics. The 24-page, full-color comic book has Lita and her brood fighting their way to a concert by battling zombies, which were created through an ancient curse by a supernatural mastermind. The dead, soulless and impenetrable-to-pain zombies can only be taken down by extreme force or decapitation and that's just what Lita, Jim, Rocco and James set out to do. The creative team behind the comic book are the fourteen-year-old comic scribe Jake Tinsley and veteran Manga artist Jason Dube. Fans can get a glimpse of the promo The Gillettes: Family Business, which Lita also plans to sell on tour starting in November, on the back page of Jake's Amber Hagerman Deserves Justice: A Night Owl Story, which is in stores on October 28.
LITA FORD has signed a deal with Coallier Entertainment, the New York-based company, whose list of clients include such artists as TWISTED SISTER and SEBASTIAN BACH. In a statement released by Lita regarding her comeback performance in July, she had this to say: "It's been way too long since I've rocked a crowd. Broke out my axe and turned it up loud. Always in my heart, forever in my soul. On July 11th, I'm gonna rock 'n' roll. At Rocklahoma I'll hit the stage with thousands of you maniacs."
